Message from the Director,
Salar Jung Museum

It is with great pride that I welcome you to the Salar Jung Museum, one of India’s most treasured repositories of art, culture, and history.

The Museum stands as a testament to the vision and dedication of Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, Salar Jung III, and his forefathers—Nawab Mir Laiq Ali Khan, Salar Jung II, and Nawab Mir Turab Ali Khan, Salar Jung I—whose vast collections continue to inspire generations.

Our mission is to preserve, protect, and present this invaluable heritage to the world, while embracing modern methods of visitor engagement and digital accessibility. Every artifact here tells a story—of craftsmanship, cultural exchange, and human creativity across centuries.

We remain committed to enhancing the visitor experience through modernization initiatives, educational outreach, and international collaborations, ensuring that the Museum continues to serve as a bridge between the past and the present.

I warmly invite you to explore, learn, and be inspired by the treasures of the Salar Jung Museum.

Ms. Priyanka Mary Francis, IAS

Director, Salar Jung Museum
